Question: Was soccer the first sport you tried?
Answer:Hi Martha, thanks for your question. Actually, when I was six years old I was on my neighborhood swim team. After that I started playing soccer at age seven.
Question: What kind of music/songs do you listen to before a big game to get you pumped?
Answer: Hey Kenna, I love all types of music, but normally before a game I will listen to hip-hop to get pumped up. I like a lot of the same things you'll hear on the radio. We all have our own ipods and discmans in the locker room, but sometimes people will get up and dance to the music on the cd player in there as well.
Question:Hi Angela! Cool site. What did it feel like putting on the national team jersey for the first time? Thanks!
Answer:Jennifer, thanks for asking. The first time I put on a national team jersey it was more surreal for me than anything. I had watched this team play and had their posters on my walls, I couldn't really take in what it meant. However, ever since then, I feel such honor to put it on, because I know I am representing many different people. That type of feeling won't ever go away for me.
Question: Who is your favorite male and female soccer player?
Answer: Kathryn, thanks for your question. There are so many amazing players out there but, my favorite male soccer player right now is Ronaldhino, he's pulled out some pretty amazing moves that I would love to try out on some of the teams we play. I don't really have an absolute favorite female soccer player right now, but when I was growing up and watching the national team I loved watching Michelle Akers play.
Question: hi..angela!my name is kelly!and my question is what do you do to get your fitness ready for soccer or whatever?
Answer: Hey Kelly, that's a good question. Normally, I am fortunate enough to have teams to work out with and train so that I'm ready for upcoming games. But, some of the time we have to work out and train on our own. When that happens I normally have someone help, like a personal trainer, design a lifting workout for me, and then I do cardio workouts on my own, including sprint-work and agilities.
